Ever feel like you are messing your kids up?
I do! ALL THE TIME!
As a dad of three, I feel a lot of pressure not to hamper my kids development! When I search online for help I often come across a list of rules that I am supposed to follow. They can be daunting to say the least. As a family physician, I have spent time talking to parents about many of these rules and providing suggestions. I do not claim to be an expert on how to raise someone else's kids.
Last night, I came across this article by Dr. Lisa Sieczkowski and it made me smile.
As parents, perfection is not an attainable goal!
Loving your children, making them feel like they matter, and supporting them is what they need most!
Hang in there! You are doing a great job!
So for now, we will continue to have "fight parties", play in the mud, ride bikes, and have movie nights! I will also continue to work on my Strength Based Parenting to prevent my own burnout and to help my children grow up to be happy and healthy adults.
Live your mission.
